Why Mothers Need Guns

I don’t think anyone of us can imagine an abusive relationship unless we’ve actually experienced one. Sadly, that is the situation many South African women find themselves in and such a relationship can be worse than a prison sentence. To live in fear, not knowing when and how much harm could be visited upon you, must be terrible and to be terrified of the man you fell in love with, the father of your children, must be the worst hell imaginable. Unfortunately, domestic and child abuse is a persistent problem in South Africa and it seems to only get worse as the years pass. Worst of all, domestic and child abuse is very detrimental to the family structure. And what should be done about it?

Our government doesn’t seem up to the task and seems more concerned about lining their own pockets instead of doing the job voters expect of them, such as protecting the citizenry. Well, here at Chicks with Guns, we have a practical albeit radical solution. Since a restraining order is essentially just a piece of paper and certainly won’t protect you from an abusive husband we offer an alternative solution, self-armament.

At Chicks with Guns, we don’t promote radicalism. We do, however, promote common sense and a firearm can be a far more effective deterrent against domestic or child abuse than any restraining order. Also, as a mother, it is your inherent duty to protect your children at any cost. They are, after all, your legacy and you need to keep them safe. And, since it seems that domestic and child abuse is not going to go away, a firearm is the better alternative. And, firearms are safe.

There are countless gun shops and in dependent firing ranges all over the country and more than ready to help novice gun owners learn the basics of gun firing and maintenance. If you currently find yourself in an abusive relationship, here at Chicks with Guns, we sympathise with you but we also advise you to take immediate action. It’s your responsibility to keep yourself and your kids safe.

Yes, domestic and child abuse in South Africa is a big problem but also a surmountable one. With a firearm and effective training you can level the playing field on any attacker and that is far more effective than any piece of paper.
